English for the Bachelor´s Thesis (5cr)

Objective

The students are able to independently write the abstract of their thesis meeting the basic requirements of academic style, with the help of aids.

Content

The main structural and stylistic factors which guarantee the quality of academic writing, e.g. the use of articles, non-finite clauses, the active and passive voices with their applications, and proper word choice.

Qualifications

The students master the basic structures of English and central field-specific terminology. They are aware that the abstract of a thesis is written in factual style.

Mastery of subject area, class participation, mastery of English academic writing style
