Objective
The students
- are familiar with the study and career planning process and portfolio work
- recognise their own learning methods and are able to develop them
- are familiar with independent and collaborative learning methods and have the ability to cooperate with others
- are able to evaluate their own learning and prepare a competence development plan
- are familiar with their fields of study and the possibilities to develop them
- are familiar with organisations in their fields of study, and their operating environments and operations
- are able to act in the JAMK learning and operating environment
- are able to utilise information and communication technology as required in the labour market.
- understand the significance of information literacy for problem-solving and learning
- recognise entrepreneurship as a potential career alternative
- understand the significance of inner entrepreneurial spirit for achieving goals, and are able to develop their own inner entrepreneurship.
Content
- Development of learning competences and personal study plan (HOPS), including the following items: Entrepreneurial path and internationalisation plan.
- Recognition and accreditation of prior learning (ePofo)
- Identification of the student's competence level in relation to objectives (e.g. language choices and IT skills)
- Student’s own professional field in Finland and abroad
- Professional growth and development
- JAMK as a learning and operating environment
- JAMK information systems
- Information retrieval skills and information literacy
- Competence tests in English and Swedish, communication and ICT.
Qualifications
No prerequisites. The students describe their own initial level at the beginning of the course.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The students demonstrate their competence in relation to the learning outcomes through different types of learning assignments.
