Objective

The course strengthens the working skills required for conducting a Bachelor's thesis. The emphasis of the course content varies appropriately according to the major, that is, the field of advanced studies. The student primarily participates in the implementation organised by their own major.

Content

- Bachelor's thesis process - Seminar work and report writing - Clarification of objectives, selecting a more precise topic, and methodological choices for the implementation - Information retrieval, source criticism, and reinforcement of academic writing practices - Various forms of communication for presenting the results of one’s work - Peer review, giving and receiving constructive feedback

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student has achieved the objectives of the course. The student is able to recognise, define, and use the concepts and models related to the subject area of the course. The student understands the prerequisites and principles of the development of expertise.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student has achieved the objectives of the course well, although there is still some room for development in certain areas of knowledge and skills. The student is able to define the key concepts and models of the course topic competently and can conduct well-justified analysis. The student possesses the ability to apply what has been learned in both academic and professional contexts. The student understands the significance of expertise in the field of information and communication technology and is able to analyse their own expertise.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student has achieved the objectives of the course with distinction. The student has an excellent command of the concepts and models within the course’s subject area. The student is able to analyse fluently and with justification, as well as propose practical development measures. The student possesses good abilities to apply what has been learned in both academic and professional contexts. The student is able to analyse expertise in the field of information and communication technology and their own development as an expert.
