Objective
* The student understands the significance of early interaction between a child and his/her parents. 
 * The student is able to help improve early interaction within a family and recognises a family’s resources and need for support.
                    
Content
* The student understands the significance of early interaction between a child and his/her parents. 
 * The student is able to help improve early interaction within a family and recognises a family’s resources and need for support.
                    
Qualifications
The student understands the connection between changes in the family and changes in society and recognises the challenges a family encounters in their day-to-day life. The student understands the importance of pre-emptive child welfare work in different operational environments.  The student knows the basics of the social and healthcare service system and services that support families.
                    
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
* Assessment will include self-assessment and peer reviews. 
 Pass: A student has actively participated in team and reading circle work and passed this course. The student has completed independent assignments in a way that demonstrates a command of the subject area. The student has achieved the learning outcomes set for the course.
 
 Fail: The student has not participated enough in team and reading circle work. The student’s independent assignments do not demonstrate a command of the subject area, or these have not been completed.
