    Learning outcomes of the course
    The object of the course
    In this course, you will familiarize yourself with the basic concepts and definitions of jurisprudence, as well as the legislation governing contract law and environmental legislation, principles of contract law, and legal practice. You will develop your own expertise in contract law matters and apply what you have learned in practical situations. Contract law is the most central legal area, and you will need the knowledge of contract law not only in your studies, but also constantly in your work, irrespective of whether you work in the private or public sector.

You are familiar with the legislation governing contract law and the general principles of contract law and key issues about sustainable development and their connection to contract law.     The course covers basic concepts related to jurisprudence and sustainable development, questions related to making and terminating a contract, and invalidity. The starting points related to the interpretation of agreements and related jurisprudence.

You are able to draw up contractual documents and know the general principles of contract law pertaining to them and the formal requirement imposed by legislation by taking into account the requirements of sustainable development..

You are able to draw up contractual documents and interpret completed contracts and guide other members of the work community in the drawing up of documents by taking into account the requirements of sustainable development.

    Planned learning activities, teaching methods and guidance

    The course will be completed by participating in lecture teaching, which is carried out as face-to-face teaching in a classroom setting and, according to a separate announcement, also as online lectures (webinar) as well as independently following online lectures offered by external parties. In addition, the course includes learning assignments and exercises as well as classroom pair/group assignments.

    Exam dates and re-exam possibilities

    Exam is in the Moodle 5. - 7. May 2023. The first resit exam will open on 19 May 2023 at 7:00 and close on 21 May 2023 at 23.59. The second resit exam will open on 26 May 2023 at 7:00 and close on 28 May 2023 at 23.59. Retake will be possible during that time without a time limit.

    Learning assignments and student workload

    The learning assignments will mainly consist of court cases related to the application of legislation and the preparation of documents. Two (2) weeks have been reserved for completing each learning assignment so that the assignment will open and close at a specified time.

    Content scheduling

    The lectures will be held on a weekly basis on a variety of topics. At the same time, the student will complete learning assignments/exercises in accordance with the given schedule. The pair assignments/exercises conducted in lieu of the weekly lectures will be separately agreed upon in connection with the classes.

    Assessment methods

    Written feedback on the learning assignments every 3 to 4 weeks after the expiry of the time limit given for returning the assignment. The pair/group assignments conducted or presented during the class will be reviewed and feedback will be received on them during the class, and they also involve self and peer assessment.
