Objective

Purpose of the course
During this course you will learn about Finnish breeding animals and know about products and services. You can choose the right feed for different animal species. You know the principles of creating a feeding plan and compare it to the nutritional needs of different animal species. You know the principles of profitable operations.

Learning outcomes
After completing this course you will be able to place farm animals in the circular economy. You are able to feed and care for farm animals responsibly and profitably. You will know the impact of production on food quality.

Digestion of farmed animals from the point of view of feeding.

The student considers production animals as part of a circular economy and understands the importance of feeding and care for products and services.
The student knows the feeds for different farm animals.

Good 3
The student is able to apply the feeding recommendations for farm animals and to choose the right feed. The student knows the impact of feed and care on products and services.

Very Good 4: The student is able to apply a variety of feeding recommendations for different production animals and is able to choose the most suitable alternatives from different feeds in terms of animal, production, products and services.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent 5
The student is able to apply the feeding and care recommendations for different farm animals comprehensively and the student is able to draw up a feeding plan and assess the impact of conditions on production and profitability.
