Objectives
The student has transferable skills to plan, implement and evaluate the nursing care of the most common mental health disorders and addiction problems. S/he is able to use the interventions based on a cooperative relationship with a patient and family, and as a member of a multiprofessional team. The student is able to apply the most common mental health, addiction and crisis nursing methods under the supervision. S/he understands the importance of ethical principles and patient safety.

The student:
-is able to comply with the ethical principles and patient safety of the practice placement.
-has transferable skills to plan, implement and evaluate the nursing process of the most common mental health disorders, addiction problems and crisis with multiprofessional treatment team. The student works in a client-centered way and S/he is able to face, councel and help a patient and the whole family within mental health-, addiction- and crisis nursing field under supervision.
-is able to apply the knowledge about treatment- and service chains and psychological continuity of treatment. S/he is able to implement empowering and goal-orientated nursing under the supervision and understands the importance of evidence-based nursing.
-is able to communicate orally and to use health care documentation system as legislation requires.
-is able to implement safety medical treatment under supervision
-obeys the rules of work community, and is able to work entrepreneurially and co-operatively.
-is able to name his/her own developmental needs and evaluates own actions critically.
Prerequisites
Opiskelija hallitsee sosiaali- ja terveysalan asiakkuuden ja toimintaympäristön perustiedot, keskeiset käsitteet ja menetelmät sekä ohjaamisen ja terveyden edistämisen ja ennaltaehkäisevän hoitotyön tavoitteet ja menetelmiä ja tietää näyttöön perustuvan päätöksenteon lähtökohdat.
