Objectives

Student plans, implements and evaluates acute and operative care and interprets vital functions and examination results when assisted. Student provides family centered and rehabilitative patient education. Student implements safe clinical care in surgical bed wards, operating units, ICU, A&E or in surgical outpatients. Student is able to document care, is acquainted with the most common care or hazardous situations. Student implements safe technological care (radiation, equipment, gas, electrical safety).

Acute disorders, triage, perioperative nursing process, surgical patient´s care path, patient safety, nutrition, wound care, acute pain management, infection control, patient education, rehabilitation, medical calculation, fluid therapy, continuous care

- plans, implements and evaluates patient care in cooperation with patient and family utilizing multidisciplinary care
- masters the most common clinical interventions and care technology safely
- implements safe medical care and fluid therapy
- is able to guide and prepare patient to the most common examinations and procedures in operative nursing
- is able to communicate and document care according to the law
- implements client centered, goal oriented, health promotive patient education utilizing appropriate materials
- acts according to the rules and regulations of the work place, takes initiative and is cooperative
- is able to assess his/her own actions critically and suggest improvements
