The purpose of the course
After completing the course, you will understand the importance of social rehabilitation in the work for the elderly/older adults and disabled persons, you will be able to describe and structure/ arrange the different work environments, service systems and legislation related to work for the elderly and disabled. You will understand the methods of assessing the need for social rehabilitation services for the elderly and the disabled, as well as the practices of planning and implementing services.

You are able to structure/ internalize concepts and different approaches related to work for the elderly/older adults and disabled persons, as well as operating environments, service systems and legislation. You will identify the different stages in the life course of the elderly and disabled as a starting point for service needs. You can evaluate their different needs and goals as well as their resources in work. You know how to support and guide clients in challenging situations caused by aging and disability. You know how to plan, implement and evaluate his service process in cooperation with the clients. You will be able to use and apply different methods to promote the empowerment and inclusion of older and disabled people in different operating environments. You are able to promote and defend the interests of the socially disadvantaged. You know the planning and decision-making processes that affect them and know how to work in them to advance the interests of your clients.
