    Learning outcomes of the course
    You will get acquainted with electrical engineering modeling methods and learn systematic analysis methods for determining the currents and voltages of direct current and alternating current circuits. The things learned in this course are key competencies in the field.

    EUR-ACE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
    You know the main modeling methods of direct current and alternating current circuits. You will be able to use systematic analysis methods to determine the currents and voltages of different parts of direct current and alternating current circuits. You know the AC power calculation and understand the importance of the power factor. You know the series and parallel resonance phenomenon. You know the basics of a symmetric three-phase system.
    Prerequisites and co-requisites
    Basic knowledge of direct current and alternating current electrical technology and familiarization with electrical safety. Basics of mathematics.

    Sufficient 1: You identify key modeling methods for direct current and alternating current circuits. You will be able to utilize a few different systematic analysis methods to solve simple direct current and alternating current circuits.

    Satisfactory 2: You identify key modeling methods for direct current and alternating current circuits. You will be able to utilize systematic analysis methods in solving simple direct current and alternating current circuits.
    Assessment criteria - grade 3 and 4
    Good 3: You know the basic modeling methods of direct current and alternating current circuits. You can use systematic analysis methods to solve different direct current and alternating current circuits. You will recognize how theory can be applied in practice.

    Very good 4: You have a good command of key modeling methods for DC and AC circuits. You are able to independently use systematic analysis methods to solve different direct current and alternating current circuits. You manage entities and are able to apply different solution methods to different circuits. You are well placed to apply the theory you have learned to practical problems.
    Assessment criteria - grade 5
    Excellent 5: You have a good command of key modeling methods for direct current and alternating current circuits. You are able to independently and creatively use systematic analysis methods to solve various direct current and alternating current circuits. You manage entities and are able to apply different solution methods to even complex circuits. You will be in an excellent position to apply the theory you have learned to practical problems.
