Objective

You will get an overview of the different phases of an electrical engineering project and outline the structure of a low voltage electrical network. Studying in this course requires basic knowledge of electrical engineering and you need these studies e.g. in other courses in this module.

EUR-ACE ENGINEERING PRACTICE
You recognize the importance of standards and regulations in electrical engineering. You are familiar with the calculation and simulation programs used as a engineering aid and know how to use them to help design components and protections. You know the basics of load calculation and the techno-economic dimensioning methods used in the selection of components. You have knowledge of the general electricity distribution network and the electricity network of buildings and you know how to dimension their components.

EUR-ACE MULTIDISCIPLINARY EXPERTISE
You will understand the multidimensional nature of electrical engineering and understand its implications for safety, environmental and economic issues, as well as the great responsibility of the designer in these. You recognize the industry is constantly evolving and changing and you are ready to evolve with it.

Evaluation scale

0-5

Arviointikriteerit, tyydyttävä (1-2)

Adequate (1): You recognize the basics and terminology, but you have shortcomings in interpreting the key issues. The responsibility of design work is not reflected in the deeds.

Satisfactory (2): You know the basics and terminology, but applying things is challenging. You will understand the implications of design work more broadly.

Arviointikriteerit, hyvä (3-4)

Good (3): You know the different stages of an electrical engineering project and take responsibility for the quality of the work. You know how to dimension components and protection and you can verify your results.

Very good (4): You master the key things and know how to apply them in a variety of ways.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent (5): You master the key things and know how to apply them in many ways. Your grip is knowledgeable.
