    Learning outcomes of the course
    Upon completion of this course you will be able to
    - critically analyze the relevant aspects of strategic management theory and practice as they relate to the management of sport organizations
    - identify and analyze complex management problems in sport organization and provide solutions to them
    - evaluate the strategic management process, different types of strategies and the role of performance measurement for sport businesses
    - investigate the skills and knowledge applicable to the process of planning the future of an organization, with a focus on key concepts of strategic planning, strategy formulation, ethical and environmental analysis, strategy implementation and measurement

    BBA in business or economics or sport or equal.

    You are able to recognize the contribution that effective strategic management can make to the achievement of the organisation's strategic objectives. You are able to identify the different strategic needs of firms and the link between HR strategy and performance. You are able to work independently and take responsibility of your team’s work. You are able to communicate your findings in oral and written form responsibly. There are minor issues in complying with JAMK reporting instructions.

    You know the contribution that effective strategic management can make to the achievement of the organisation's strategic objectives. You are able to recognise different strategic perspectives impacting the organisational performance. You understand how different strategies can contribute into sport business performance. You can combine the theoretical framework and practice. You can evaluate your work and develop your know-how. You are able to communicate your findings in oral and written form responsibly in a well-structured manner. Your text mainly follows the JAMK reporting instructions.

    You know how to evaluate alternative conceptual frameworks for the analysis of key performance indicators. You are able to suggest and argument for alternative practices based on relevant theories. You are able to critically analyze your learning and develop your skills. You can produce relevant, logical and analytical content. You are able to communicate your findings in oral and written form responsibly and in a well-structured manner, and according to JAMK reporting instructions.

    You know how to create a development plan/a new strategy for a sport business. You are able to critically evaluate and suggest improvement ideas for management practises and are able find solutions that are well argument and built on topical practises and academic literature and research. You take responsibility of developing your expertise in this area and you are able to critically evaluate your own learning and progression. You present convincing results and content, and you are able to combine different frameworks and findings in your reporting. You are able to communicate your findings in oral and written form responsibly and in a well-structured manner, complying fully with JAMK reporting instructions.

    Planned learning activities, teaching methods and guidance

    Course is a hybrid on-campus and online study entity. It combines face-to-face and distance learning methods where students participate in lectures (online or physical), workshops and other study activities. On-campus studies are organized as intensive 3 day period.
