    Learning outcomes of the course
    The role of purchasing in organizations is increasingly significant. Organizations concentrate in their core competences and activities. They purchase more and more materials, products and services. Value for the customers is created together with the suppliers. At the same purchasing management controls a huge portion of the total costs in one's business. The competitiveness of the organization can be improved through the professional purchasing management.

    During the course you will learn to observe and understand the possibilities and challenges of the purchasing. You will learn to improve organization's business and operations through the professional purchasing initiatives. You will be able to act as a person responsible for purchasing in an organization – planning, implementing, analyzing and developing purchasing as a part of the business activities.

    Course contents
    The main themes in the course will be purchasing management, purchasing process, analyzing and developing purchasing and a selected special topic in purchasing management.

    This course is a virtual course. Course consists five different subjects and every subject has own assignments. You will study all subjects independently through given materials.
