    Learning outcomes of the course
    This course introduces you to evidence-based knowledge in the planning, implementation and evaluation of safe perioperative and acute nursing care.

    Learning outcomes
    You are familiar with culturally sensitive, evidence based nursing care at different stages of acute and perioperative patient's care path.
    You have a basic understanding of safe drug and fluid therapy for acute and perioperative patients.
    You have a basic understanding of the most common medical technology devices.
    You are familiar with the various evidence based counseling methods for acute and perioperative patients.
    Prerequisites and co-requisites
    You master health promotion- and essential counseling methods, as well as medical nursing care, mental health-, addiction- and crisis nursing.
    You know the basis of evidence-based decision making.
    You master the contents of anatomy and physiology as well as pharmacology and medicine related to the above mentioned nursing studies.
    Course contents
    Perioperative nursing process and care path, acute care, medical technology related to patient safety, policies and legislation concerning acute and perioperative care, nutrition, drug- and fluid therapy, blood transfusion, wound care, acute pain management, infection prevention, culturally sensitive patient-centered counseling
