    Learning outcomes of the course
    The object of this course:
    In this course you will learn to recognise the strategic targets of the organisation and procurement. You identify the cost, risk and value in purchasing management. In addition you begin to understand the Basic tools of purchasing management.

    During this course the following skills are improved and assessed: Procurement Skills, Engineering Practice and Multidisciplinary skills

    You recognise the strategic targets of an organisation and procurement. You identify the meaning of cost, risk and value in procurement and know the Basic tools of purchasing management.
    Prerequisites and co-requisites
    The basics of purchasing. Student is able to find information idependently and to prepare reports. They have basic knowledge of the logistics processes.

    In this course you study the following topics:
    Strategic management
    Cost, risk and value in purchasing management
    Category management and organisational models of purchasing
    Contracts and contract management
    The future of purchasing management

    1. Student recognises the strategic targets of an organisation and procurement, as well as the meaning of cost, risk and value in purchasing management. In addition, they know the basic tools of purchasing management.

    2. Student recognises the strategic targets of an organisation and procurement, and knows their connection. They know the meaning of cost, risk and value in purchasing management and the affect to each other. In addition, they recognise the basic tools of purchasing management.
    Assessment criteria - grade 3 and 4
    3. Student understands the role of organisation strategy and procurement strategy as a part of strategic management of a business, and knows how they are connected. They understand cost, risk and value in purchasing management, how to use them and their affect to each other. In addition, they understand the basic tools of purchasing management.

    4. Student understands the role of different strategies to a business, and knows how to apply the organisational strategy to purchasing strategy. They manage cost, risk and value in purchasing management. In addition, they can apply the basic tools of purchasing management.
    Assessment criteria - grade 5
    5. Student manages different strategies and knows how to apply the organisational strategy to purchasing strategy. They manage cost, risk and value in purchasing management and know how to use them purchasing strategies. In addition, they manage and know how to apply the basic tools of purchasing management.
