Objective

To know how to adapt physical education for elderly and people with physical disability, visual impairment, overweight, mental health and abuse problems
To learn to instruct physical activity for older people. Is able use professional communication in English in multicultural student group.

Content

Theoretical and practical basics of adapted physical activation, focus on Elderly and people with impairments
Exercises, methods and practice for counseling functional group activity with diverse client groups

Teaching methods

In this course we learn together through adapted physical exercises, dialogues and lessons. You instruct three Physical Activity sessions for diverse client groups. You write a review and session plans for the instruction sessions. In final seminar you present your learning experiences to other students

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Pass criteria:student has competence to plan and instruct physical activity for the elderly Student knows the basic of adapted phusical education for physical disability, visual impairment, overweight, mental health and abuse problems. Student can critically reflect his/her own actions and also give constructive feedback to fellow students in English language. The student participates the sessions, takes responsibility for the group sessions and return the written assignments as agreed.
