Objectives

The course aims at shedding light on how scalable, technology-based and/or technology-enabled business ideas can be developed into a business plan by step-by-step research and planning.

Upon completion of the course you will be able to:

Skills in Critical and Analytical Understanding IBCRI

- Critically review, analyze and understand information available from academic and professional business sources in technology business field.

Applied Business Skills IBBUS

- Apply disciplinary and interdisciplinary knowledge to analyze business challenges and trends to propose or take in action practical solutions based on the findings in order to develop business plan and its analysis based on the idea created.

Communication Skills IBCOM

- Communicate responsibly, effectively and professionally in English in oral and written formats.

Ethical Conduct IBETH
- Analyze and review the viability of the solution and business plan for it against frameworks such as the Principles for Responsible Management Education (UNPRME) or the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.



Intercultural Collaborative Skills IBCOL

- Participate in inter- and multicultural settings and demonstrate teamwork skills

The starting point for the course are the global sustainability needs that the teams start elaborating on with their innovations and business plans based on them.

The assessment based on the following items:
- bi-weekly group assignments 5 x 10 % = 50 %
- final presentation: 20 %
- final business plan -report: 30 %

Prerequisites

Basic courses of Management and Financial Management (JAMK Degree students) or equivalent courses of basics of management (exchange students) and financial management completed.
