Objective

The goal of the course

The course aims to allow participants to enhance their leadership skills and to master specific competencies in intercultural management and business negotiations in a global environment. The course will also give participants the mindset, the approach, the methodologies, and the tools to manage people.

Students are trained to cope with multicultural challenges and partnerships, and the internationalization of firms - and to develop their personal leadership skills. The course includes students from many parts of the world - contributing to its true international and entrepreneurial spirit.

The failure to recognize cultural differences in leadership are the most common cause of failure for cross-national enterprises. This course helps you to understand how international managers of different cultures express different values and priorities when they make and implement decisions. These values influence work relationships , whether between superior and subordinate, peers, international partners, managers in HQ and subsidiaries.

In addition to understand the influence of national and corporate culture, international managers need to weigh other factors, like social and business environment and the personalities of the people concerned.

Managers in multinational corporations may have the difficult task of integrating the varied values of their diverse workforce in establishing a vision and setting goals for the whole organisation. The insight thus gained in this course could provide managers with added competitive advantage in the culturally diverse global market.

This course provides its participants with the understanding that international management and leadership involves not just conducting international business transactions abroad but also working with people who may not share our basic values and assumptions.

Course competences:

Leading people across boundaries by analysing cultures and making comparisons
Leadership and Communication in Multicultural environment
