Objective

EUR-ACE Knowledge and Understanding/EUR-ACE Engineering Analysis: Value is increasingly created in networks of organizations and inter-organizational relationships.

EUR-ACE Engineering Practice: Student understands networking as part of company's strategic management. Students will better understand the concept and meaning of the value networks and collaborative business relationships.

EUR-ACE Transferable Skills: Student will be able to act in business relationships as an individual in order to enhance the business objectives.

- Networks and networking
- Value networks
- Inter-organizational relationships
- Interaction and collaboration in business relationships

Course utilizes several different study material sources - books, researches and articles. Study material and course literature will be presented at the course study environment.

Teaching methods

Course consists of face-to-face lessons and independent study. Face-to-face lessons will be held in Jamk main campus.

Face-to-face lessons consists of lectures, visitor lectures, workshops and possible company excursion.

Independent study consists of individual orientation assignments, learning assignments in groups and individual learning diary.

Course exam is made as group exam.

Accreditation procedure is described in study guide. Course teacher will give additional information of other possible methods to take this course.

Student workload

One credit means 27 hours of student work. Therefore 5 credit course means 135 hours of student work.

Course plan:
- contact lessons, 7 times, around 25 hours
- Company excursion, around 8 hours
- Independent study, around 102 hours

Course assessment is based on orientation assignments, learning assignments, learning diary and exam. Course is evaluated as pass / fail.

Satisfactory (2): Student has gained knowledge of course objectives and can utilize them partly in practice.
Sufficient (1): Student has gained knowledge of course objectives but faces challenges to utilize them in practice.

Qualifications

Basics of purchasing. The students are able to find information independently and to prepare reports. They have the basic knowledge of logistics processes.
