Objectives
Purpose of the course
After this course you are able to apply critical thinking skills and make independent and evidence based decisions as a nursing professional under supervision in multicultural team. You are able to evaluate the client`s and family´s need for care, perform nursing process and interventions and provide evidence-based care. You apply sustainable development know-how and innovation and project methods as part of professional practice.

Practical training (400 hours) in different nursing environments.
Alternative completion methods
Practical training can be completed as work (studification). Requirements for the studification according to Jamk instructions. Studification must be planned and applied in written form before starting the working. Agreement is done with the student, working place and the teacher.

You have wide knowledge of the development of your area of expertise, as well as a critical understanding and application of theories and policies in the field. You are able to create personal knowledge based on the international and latest knowledge base of the course. You can evaluate it critically and show creative thinking. You are able to use information and communication technology in a creative way to acquire, modify, produce and transmit information in your field.
You aim to develop your own field with your own skills and can present them in presentations that are relevant to working life. You can evaluate own skills and acquired skills in a comprehensive, critical and developmental way. You are able to make independent evidence-based decisions at different stages of the care path with the support of your supervisor. You are able to think in entrepreneurial manner and have internalized problem-solving skills appropriate to ethical situations. You have the ability to evaluate the knowledge base of your area of expertise and your own activities and to develop them critically and creatively. You master the essential clinical interventions of your area of expertise by utilizing and applying technology in nursing with support of your supervisor.
You are able to work skillfully, client-oriented and taking into account diverse cultural differences in multidisciplinary and possibly multicultural working groups.
Prerequisites
You master the basics, key concepts, and methods of social and health customer relationships and the business environment. You master the goals, basics, and methods of nursing and client-centered nursing. You can use evidence-based knowledge in nursing decision making. You master the methods of assessing the patient's clinical examination and need for care. You have completed your pharmacology and medical studies as well as your basic studies and related training before the start of the course. You have at least 140 ECTS credits before you start this course (one 4 week internship may be missing).
