In this unit you will learn to identify the patient's needs and respond to them through nursing.

Content

Asceptics in Nursing care (Fundamentals of Infection Prevention and Control, Hand Hygiene and Aseptic Procedures)
Assisting patients with personal hygiene
Monitoring of vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, breathing, temperature, pain and consciousness)
Ensuring voiding and elimination
Taking care of nutrition and fluid balance (assisting with meals, putting in a nasogastric tube)
Basic laboratory samples (haemoglobin, blood sugar, urine, throat swab)
Injections in pharmacotherapy (subcutaneous and intramuscular)
Monitoring and maintaining skin health and prevention of pressure ulcers
Ethical principles of nursing as part of professional encounters
Principles of Emergency First Aid
Ergonomics and patient manual handling

Sufficient 1
You recognize the patient's basic needs and know how to respond to nursing care in a safe manner. You know the principles of ergonomics, and you understand the basic principles of asepsis as part of nursing. You know the basics of a professional encounter. you know how to act in first aid situations

Satisfactory 2

Good 3
You understand and respond to a patient's basic needs using nursing techniques and safety. You will understand the basic principles of ergonomics and asepsis as part of nursing. You understand the basics of a professional encounter. You know how to act in first aid situations

You understand the patient's basic needs and are able to respond to them using evidence-based nursing methods. You are committed to patient safety. Excellent 5
You have a broad understanding of the patient's basic needs and can reasonably respond to them in a manner consistent with nursing methods and safety. You understand the principles of ergonomics and apply them to the individual ability of the patient. You understand the basic principles of asepsis as part of nursing. You will be able to apply ethical principles in nursing and understand their importance as part of a professional encounter. You know how to act in first aid situations
