Content scheduling
During the course, interactive lectures will alternate with classroom tasks, independent assignment and independent study of literature.
Tasks and assignments are connected to the several subjects simultaneously. Connections are mentioned in task and assignment descriptions.
Objective
The object of the course
Upon completion of this course you will understand the meaning of the information systems for the business operations. You will manage the general comprehensive view of the structure and the operations of the information systems. You will recognize the most common software and information systems in business operations. You can transfer data from one information system to another one. You are capable of working with O365 cloud service and produce information for both operative and strategic decision making.

The learning objectives of the course
Upon completion of this course you will manage the general structures and the theory of information systems. You can understand and describe business processes, report from different information systems and transfer data between different information systems. You will also manage the O365 cloud service and its cooperative use in business and organization environment.

Teaching methods
The course has themes. The themes include following steps that support the learning process:
1. independent study of the subject, following tasks and assignments
2. expert lectures related to the subject area
3. compulsory learning tasks done during the contact lessons
4. personal learning assignments
Guidance will be available during the course as follows:
1. Each contact lessons starts with an introduction and guidance to the theme and subject
2. Guidance and learning support for the compulsory learning tasks done in classroom
3. Evaluation of the compulsory learning tasks with the scale Failed/Passed
4. Peer feedback on the selected compulsory learning tasks
5. Evaluation of the personal learning assignments with a numeral scale.
6. Personal feedback discussion with the lecturer in the end of the course (compulsory).

Exam schedules
The final personal assignment must be returned by the 24th of May .
Information about the exam will be given in learning platform workspace. Re-sit dates of the exam will be announced in the workspace.

You recognize the importance of reporting. You recognize business processes. You can transfer data between different information systems by using ready made transfer modules.

You can operate supervised within defined business information system (O365). You understand the structures of common information systems and know how these systems work. You recognize the importance of reporting and can produce in demand reports supervised. You can transfer data between different information systems independently by using ready made transfer modules and supervised between office software programs.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Good 3
You can operate independently within a business information system (O365). You understand the structures of common information systems and understand how these systems work. You manage basic reporting independently. You understand the structures of business processes and the connection between them. You can transfer data between different information systems independently by using ready made transfer modules between office software programs.
Very Good 4
You can operate independently within a business information system (O365). You understand the structures of the information systems and also understand how these systems work. You recognize the significance of the business processes to the business operations and the structures of the different processes while understanding the connections between different processes. You manage the basic reporting independently while being able to develop the reporting supervised. You can transfer data between office software programs and between different platforms supervised.

You can operate independently within a business information system and produce development proposals for the system (O365). You understand the structures of the information systems and also are able to develop the structure and operations of the system. You can generate reports and independently improve the content according to the given business objectives for the business decision making. You recognize the significance of the business processes to the business operations and the structures of the different processes while understanding the connections between different processes. You are also capable of developing the processes according to the given business objectives. You can transfer data between different platforms independently.
