Objective

During this course, you will learn therapeutic exercise methods related to movement, motion, daily activities, posture therapy, breathing, circulation, relaxation and body awareness.

You can apply evidence-based information on an individual basis in the planning of physiotherapy.
You are able to guide and assist the client’s movement in an ergonomic and activating way by utilising assistive tools and techniques.
You can apply different methods of cardiovascular and respiratory exercise with different client groups.
You can apply different relaxation and body awareness methods with different client groups.
You are able to guide the client, their family members and other employees.

Content

Posture, motion and movement guidance and client assistance using different tools and conditions. Exercise of daily activities.
Cardiovascular and respiratory exercise.
Basics and methods of relaxation, principles and training of exercises that increase body awareness.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Adequate (1) Your knowledge of posture, motion and movement guidance, daily activity exercises, patient assistance and cardiovascular and respiratory exercises as well as the principles and training of relaxation and body awareness exercises consists of isolated, although relevant, details. Your guidance involves uncertainties and there are shortcomings in ergonomics; you have difficulties with drawing conclusions. You are capable of self-assessment and peer review. You have completed the agreed-upon assignments. Your assignments only show few connections between the matters presented, reflection remains minimal. However, you have summarised literature in the field and marked references.

Satisfactory (2) Your knowledge of posture, motion and movement guidance, daily activity exercises, patient assistance with different tools and conditions and cardiovascular and respiratory exercises as well as the principles and training of relaxation and body awareness exercises consists of isolated, although relevant, details. In your guidance, you understand the importance of conclusions and ergonomics, but they involve uncertainty, difficulties and shortcomings. You are capable of self-assessment and peer review. You have completed the agreed-upon assignments. Your assignments only show few connections between the matters presented, reflection remains minimal. However, you have summarised literature in the field and marked references.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (3) You possess good knowledge and skills on posture, motion and movement guidance, daily activity exercises, patient assistance with different tools and conditions and cardiovascular and respiratory exercises as well as the principles and training of relaxation and body awareness exercises. You are able to substantiate your activities and seek to combine your knowledge and skills. Your guidance is fluent, the conclusions made are correct and you take ergonomics into account in your activities. You are capable of self-assessment and peer review. In assignments, you demonstrate an ability to describe and substantiate various subject area phenomena by making varied and proper use of evidence-based sources.

Very good (4) You possess extensive knowledge and skills on posture, motion and movement guidance, daily activity exercises, patient assistance with different tools and conditions and cardiovascular and respiratory exercises as well as the principles and training of relaxation and body awareness exercises. You are able to analyse and substantiate your activities and solutions. Your guidance is skilful and the conclusions made are well-reasoned. You take ergonomics into account and are capable of constructive self-evaluation and peer review. In assignments, you demonstrate an ability to describe and substantiate various subject area phenomena in a critical manner by way of personal reflection and by making varied and proper use of evidence-based sources.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent (5) You possess very extensive knowledge and skills on posture, motion and movement guidance, daily activity exercises, patient assistance with different tools and conditions and cardiovascular and respiratory exercises as well as the principles and training of relaxation and body awareness exercises. You are able to analyse and substantiate your activities and bring up new solutions. The guidance and the techniques you use are varied and skilful, and the conclusions made are well-reasoned. You take ergonomics into account and are capable of constructive self-evaluation and peer review. In assignments, you demonstrate an ability to describe and substantiate various subject area phenomena in a critical manner by way of personal reflection, making varied and proper use of evidence-based sources.
