Objective

You understand the concepts of fiber, structure of paper and web, and you know the raw materials, additives and fillers used in paper- and boardmaking. You also know the basics of the production processes of fiber raw materials and the quality requirements set on paper and board by the end use. You are able to identify different paper and board types.

Content

Chemical, chemi-mechanic- and mechanical furnish. Recycled fiber. The quality of furnish and it's significance in raw material- and process control. The main processes of paper and board making. Paper and board types. End use requirements, additives and fillers.
