Objective

You will get acquainted with industrial measurements and their technology. You will need a basic knowledge of physics and electrical engineering in the course. You will be able to use what you have learned in this course in many other courses during your studies and, of course, in working life.

EUR-ACE INFORMATION AND UNDERSTANDING
You are familiar with industrial measurement methods and understand their physical and chemical fundamentals. You know how to analyze measurement results and understand the measurement uncertainty associated with measurements. You can make choices between different measurement methods and you can implement simple PC-based measurement applications.

Content

Measurement methods
Physical and chemical basis of measurements
Analysis of measurement data
PC-based measurement applications (Labview)

Materials

Materials in the e-learning environment.

Teaching methods

- lectures
- independent study
- distance learning
- webinars
- small group learning
- exercises
- learning tasks
- seminars

Exam schedules

The possible date and method of the exam will be announced in the course opening.

Completion alternatives

The admission procedures are described in the degree rule and the study guide. The teacher of the course will give you more information on possible specific course practices.

Student workload

One credit corresponds to an average of 27 hours of work, which means that the load of five credits is approximately 135 hours. The load is distributed in different ways depending on the course implementation.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Adequate (1): You recognize the basics and terminology, but interpreting them is challenging.

Satisfactory (2): You know the basics and terminology, but applying the key things is challenging.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (3): You understand the physical and chemical principles of measurement methods, you can evaluate the reliability of measurement and you can design PC-based measurement methods. You understand the principles so deeply that you know how to locate the causes of inaction.

Commendable (4): You master the key issues and their application.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent (5): You master the key things and know how to apply them, outlining different solutions, showing creativity and innovation.
