Teaching methods

The automation engineering entities is inherently problem-oriented and therefore it is also used as a learning method. Concretely, it is done through contact hours, returnable exercises and independent work.

Exam schedules

Passing exam at the time announced in Moodle and two re-examinations.

Completion alternatives

Discuss on a case-by-case basis.

Student workload

Lectures 16 h, Tutorial lessons 4 h, independent work 34 h, a total of 54 hours of learning work.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Adequate (1): You recognize the basics and terminology, but you have shortcomings in interpreting the key issues.

Satisfactory (2): You know the basics and terminology, but doing holistic field device engineering is challenging.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (3): You know the most common field devices and the basics of their placement, installation methods, installation documentation, and installation materials. You can select and dimension field devices suitable for basic processes.

Very good (4): You master the key issues and know how to apply them in a variety of ways in projects.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent (5): You master the key issues and are able to apply them, outlining different alternative functional total solutions.

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of physics and measurement technology
