Objective
During this course, you will acquire basic knowledge of AI and how to utilize it in management. You will develop your understanding of AI with the help of assignments that are related to real-world scenarios. During the course, you will work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
After completing this course, you have learned AI’s limitations, possibilities, and risks in a management environment. In addition, you have the skill to expand your knowledge in AI tools independently.

The learning objectives of the course

Content
You recognize the skills you need to acquire to use AI and you can perform basic management work with it.
Based on your experience, observations, and the knowledge you have acquired, you use common AI tools to perform common management work.
You act in a multidisciplinary small group in which you learn to use AI and perform management work. In the same groups, you analyze AI’s weaknesses and threats, and present results to others.
Tools used in this course are freemium AI tools such as ChatGPT, Lumen5, DALL·E 3, and captions.

This course includes workshops, independent work, group work, and lectures. You will receive feedback on assignments that are returned in time. You receive guidance in Moodle space and in contact lectures and work-shops. Giving feedback and learning from peers is encouraged.
Your knowledge is tested through assignments and tests.

In this course, we have multiple assessment methods in use:
1. The lecturer assesses all returnable assignments. If you return assignments on time, you will receive feedback.
2. Peer assessment is used in exercises that require presenting or writing a post in the forum area. It included group work as well.
3. Self-assessment happens in the last reflection work in which you summarize your findings in this course.

The student shows a basic awareness of responsible AI usage principles and societal impact but lacks depth in understanding. They recognize some AI security risks but are unable to effectively evaluate them. While acknowledging AI risks in security and ethics, the student struggles to articulate these clearly or provide examples. They recognize AI's role in improving productivity but lack practical examples and understanding of its application. The student understands the basic concept of generative AI but cannot describe its practical applications or limitations. In terms of skills application, they demonstrate the ability to use AI tools in simple management tasks but lack fluency and depth. Additionally, the student barely participates in group work as part of a team.

The student demonstrates a basic understanding of AI's responsible use and discusses ethical aspects of AI using relevant examples, though they show only a basic analysis in complex AI scenarios. They understand and explain AI security risks but only partially identify and explain complex AI security issues. The student recognizes and describes AI's role in enhancing productivity, understanding common applications of AI in productivity, but less so in advanced cases. They identify basic concepts and some applications of generative AI but demonstrate a limited understanding of generative AI's broader implications. In terms of application, the student effectively uses AI tools for basic management tasks and participates and contributes in collaborative settings but applies AI tools in standard ways with less innovation.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student exhibits a profound understanding of AI's ethical use, displaying advanced analysis of ethical aspects and societal impacts. They demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of AI security risks and apply sophisticated strategies to mitigate these risks. Students show a nuanced understanding of AI's role in enhancing productivity, leveraging AI to optimize complex management tasks innovatively. In terms of generative AI, they possess a comprehensive understanding, applying these tools creatively in management and critically assessing their broader implications. This level signifies the development of high competence in ethical decision-making, security evaluation, productivity enhancement, and innovative application of generative AI, fulfilling the course objectives of understanding AI's limitations, possibilities, and risks, and independently expanding knowledge in AI tools.
