Objective
You will get to know the key topic in the field, ie control technology. With the help of the control technology, the equipment is made to react as correctly as possible, e.g. various process disturbances or changes in driving situations. This course allows for a more in-depth study of the subject in other courses.
EUR-ACE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
You will recognize the different structures of control systems and understand the challenges associated with tuning control circuits and know the methods for tuning them.
EUR-ACE ENGINEERING PRACTICE
You can define the parameters needed to tune the control circuits and you can tune a simple control circuit.
Content
structures and properties of simple control circuits
MATLAB / SIMULINK modeling and simulation software for dynamic system modeling
control methods
measuring and optimizing control performance
Evaluation scale
0-5
Arviointikriteerit, tyydyttävä (1-2)
Sufficient (1): You recognize the basics and terminology, but interpreting them is challenging.
Satisfactory (2): You know the basics and terminology, but applying the key things is challenging.
Arviointikriteerit, hyvä (3-4)
Good 3: You understand the basics of modeling dynamic systems and know how to design a PID controller for a dynamic system. You can also test and tune it.
Very good (4): You master the key issues and their application so deeply that you also know how to locate the more complex causes of inaction.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Excellent (5): You master key issues and are able to show creativity and innovation in their application.
