Objectives

In the course, you familiarise yourself with the basics of creating websites following good practices. After attending the course, you are able to define, plan and implement a standard and valid website, taking into account the target group using HTML and CSS technologies.

EUR-ACE Knowledge and understanding
You know the web development process and its different stages as well as the definition of the target group.

EUR-ACE Engineering Practice
You know the HTML5 standard and CSS style design and are able to create standard-compliant websites designed for the target group using basic techniques.

Content

In this course, you will learn the basics and good practices of website design. By the end of the course, you will be able to define, design and implement a standard and valid website using HTML and CSS techniques, taking into account the needs of the target audience. You will be familiar with the different stages of the web development process and be able to apply HTML5 and CSS styling in practice. This course will enable you to create professional and targeted websites.

Basics and documentation of website definition and design (e.g. synopsis, structure diagram, layout plan, testing, etc.).
Website development process
Website Structure Syntax (HTML5)
Designing the layout of the page with styles (CSS)
Validation and accessibility considering different browsers
Publishing to the Internet on a web server

Material distributed by the lecturer on web sites (e.g. https://www.w3schools.com/ , https://www.w3.org/ as well as instructions on videos).
Moodle for returning asignments.

80% attendance obligation, absences are agreed upon with the teacher for justified reasons. For example, cases of illness or the necessary expertise have been otherwise demonstrated.

You know the HTML standard and style design and you know how to produce a valid and accessible website taking into account the target group. The course assignment is documented in accordance with the requirements.

You master the HTML standard and style design and know how to produce a functional, valid and accessible site, and for the most part, the target group has been taken into account. The documentation of the course assignment is thorough and error-free.
