Objective
The object of the course
After completing the course, you understand the diversity and significance of well-being at work for the individual, the work community and the organization, both as a part of management and supervisory work and a HR competence of human resources expert.
Course competences
Business competence: The student knows the central theories related to this specialization option. The student possesses at least an advanced beginner’s skills in the practical tasks of the specialization option.
Learning to learn: Also takes responsibility for group learning and sharing what has been learned.
Operating in a workplace: Is able to work constructively in a work community and to promote their own and their work community’s wellbeing.
The learning objectives of the course
You recognize the current phenomena of occupational well-being management. You recognize the different areas of management of well-being at work, their significance for the company’s productivity and the key development methods. You understand the significance of occupational health and safety have an understanding of the tools and model of operation that support them. You know the legislation related to occupational safety and health and its requirements for human resources planning. You recognize the roles required by occupational safety and health. You recognize the factors contributing to a safe and healthy workplace.
Content
The course covers a wide range of different areas of well-being at work.The course focuses on current phenomena in well-being at work and the importance of strategic management in promoting well-being at work. The students learn about different models of well-being at work and the importance of the quality of working life, work ability and coping at work.
The course also discusses the mapping and development of well-being at work, the role of occupational health care in health promotion, and the importance of cooperation. Regulations guiding well-being at work and occupational safety and health, the activities of the occupational safety and health organization and occupational safety and health action programmes are also key topics.
In addition, students learn about the principles of occupational safety, occupational safety and risk management, as well as the utilisation of digital applications for occupational well-being and safety.
The course covers various tools that are central to the assessment and development of well-being at work. Students will become familiar with methods that can be used to assess and improve well-being at work and learn about occupational safety and risk management assessment methods. In addition, the course familiarizes students with digital collaboration applications.

You recognize the factors contributing to a safe and healthy workplace. Your reporting is unstructured and inadequate.

You are able to explain the different areas of the management of well-being at work, their significance for the company’s productivity and the key development methods. You are able to explain the significance of occupational health and safety and apply operating models that support them. You are able to explain the legislation related to occupational safety and health and its requirements for human resources planning. You are able to explain the roles required by occupational safety and health. You are able to explain the factors contributing to a safe and healthy workplace. Your reporting is consistent but exhibits minor shortcomings with regard to language and reporting instructions. Interaction in the group requires development.
