Objective

The course is designed by Aalto University. "This course consists of five chapters and each chapter has multiple sections. After each section, there is either a quiz or a reflection assignment so that you can reflect on what you have learned. You can choose between reading the course content or listening to it in a podcast format. Each chapter has a “must read” and a “good read” reading list. In order to complete the course, you will have to complete all the quizzes and reflection assignments. You will need to study the “must read” reading list in order to complete the quizzes." You are required to complete each chapter in order pass the course and achieve the certificate. Grading takes place during the month of May and December.


Competencies for the course are mentioned below;

Learning to learn: You develop critical and analytical mindset that helps you to study and review existing knowledge in the light of relevant learning resources and learning methods; you to acquire new knowledge; and develops your intellectual capabilities to seek conclusions and draw inferences in various contexts.

Proactive development: You develop solutions in the light of current as well as anticipated situations and challenges in business by applying knowledge, critical reasoning and analytical skills. You ensure that these solutions are feasible, relevant, creative, user-friendly, and sustainable as well as underline active cooperation among different actors.

Content

We are amid a revolution of work, which started already long before the pandemic. Making sense of the future of work can feel tricky in the middle of a constant information overflow. This course is supported with academic research and references packaged in a way that is easy to access. In this course, we will look at how the roles of the individual, organisations and society have changed and how it affects how we work today and in the future. The course is an open online course. The course material is divided into five (5) chapters.

No exam, passing the course demands verification of learning obtained from the MOOC-platform i.e., certificate of accomplishment.

You have the right to apply for recognition of your studies if you have prior learning (e.g. university studies completed elsewhere) that can be accredited towards the degree you are currently completing.
The recognition of prior learning is possible in three primary ways: accreditation (replacement or inclusion), recognition of informal learning. More precise info: JAMK Degree Regulations, section 17.

The course is an online offering from Aalto university, therefore to pass the course you are required to upload the certificate of the completion of the course in Future of Work and Finland Studies. You can complete the course at your own pace, after the completion of the course, you are required to submit the certificate to the Moodle workspace mentioned below (enrollment key: Finland).
