Objectives

The Elements of AI is a series of free online courses created by MinnaLearn and the University of Helsinki. We want to encourage as broad a group of people as possible to learn what AI is, what can (and can’t) be done with AI, and how to start creating AI methods. The courses combine theory with practical exercises and can be completed at your own pace. You master the key concepts and definitions of AI and is able to participate into professional discussion that relates to the topic and applicability of AI.

Competences:

Learning to learn: You develop critical and analytical mindset that helps you to study and review existing knowledge in the light of relevant learning resources and learning methods; incentivizes you to acquire new knowledge; and develops your intellectual capabilities to seek conclusions and draw inferences in various contexts.

Upon completion of the course you understand the basic concept and logic of Artificial Intelligence and masters the key vocabulary related to the subject. You are also able to understand the limitations of the current stage of development of Artificial Intelligence. You understand the practical (existing and potential) applications of AI and implications of them to business processes.
