Tavoitteet

After completing the course, you
- master the basic concepts of multicultural work, culture and identity and their meaning in integration process
- master integration and acculturation process to a new country and to a new culture
- learn to use culturally sensitive counselling and work orientation
- understand the meaning of a culturally conscious worker as preventing the process of prejudice and racism, interaction between people from different cultures

Sisältö

The contents of the course are multicultural work, immigration globally and in Finland, current issues in asylum seeker´s process, integration and acculturation process to a new country and to a new culture as well as integration services and legislation. The course also discusses the meaning of culture and consider culturally conscious worker: how to prevent the process of prejudice and racism and increase interaction between people from different cultures.

Opetusmenetelmät

Luennot, vierailijat, videot, ryhmätehtävät, keskustelut, oppimispäiväkirja ja osallistuminen monikulttuurisen ohjaustyön opintokäynteihin. Webinaarit järjestetään Zoomissa ja sen lisäksi sinulla on mahdollisuus tulla kampukselle, paikan päälle opiskelemaan.

Harjoittelu- ja työelämäyhteistyö

Opintojakson aikana tehdään opintokäynti monikulttuuriseen työpaikkaan, jossa opiskelija tutustuu monikulttuuriseen työhön käytännössä 1 op, 27 tuntia.

Voit hakea hyväksilukua aiemmilla vastaavilla korkeakouluopinnoilla (sisältö/tavoitteet/laajuus). Osasuorituksia voit hakea myös työkokemuksella. Keskustele osaamisestasi opettajatutorisi kanssa ja tee tarvittaessa e-ahothakemus viimeistään kaksi viikkoa ennen opintojakson alkamista.

Tähän toteutukseen tulee mukaan myös Kuntoutuksen ristiinopiskelun verkoston opiskelijoita (ei rajoitettu paikkamäärää).

Kurssin suorittaminen edellyttää luennoille osallistumisen, opintojakson itsenäisten tehtävien tekemisen, monikulttuurisen ohjaustyön opintokäynnit sekä oppimispäiväkirjan laatimisen. Opintojakson arvosana perustuu oppimispäiväkirjasta saatavaan arvosanaan.
