Objective

The object of the course
The course gives you tools for your studies. You will learn how to search for high-quality information from a wide variety of information sources. You will learn to use these sources in various learning tasks. After the course, you will be able to apply Jamk's reporting guidelines and follow the ethical principles in reporting.

Teaching methods

This implementation is meant for students who started their studies in 2024 but were not in Finland yet. Other students are accepted if there is space.

Webinars:
-Information Seeking Mon 17 March 4-5.30 pm on Zoom
-Reporting Skills Tue 1st April 4-5.30 pm on Zoom
-Workshop on Referencing Tue 29th April 4-5.30

After studying the materials of the workspace, the student completes the related assignments and receives guidance.

Completion of the course requires participation in the webinars and completion of assignments.


The learning environment is Moodle.

Exam schedules

webinar/Zoom implementation: The course commences with a library section, encompassing the study of materials, information retrieval, and assignments. The reporting segment involves the completion of online tasks and a final text sample.
