Evaluation methods and criteria

All assignments (1–7) must be completed successfully to receive a passing grade for the course. The final grade, on a scale of 1–5, is based on five graded assignments, each with a predefined weighting.

The following criteria apply to all assignments:

0 Fail
The student does not demonstrate understanding of the fundamentals of digital transformation or the core content of the course.

1 Satisfactory (Lower Pass)
The student identifies opportunities related to digitalisation and the digital operating environment in service business. The student can participate in co-creation within a group with support. The student recognizes digital methods for service development and understands the basics of leveraging user experiences in digital development.

2 Satisfactory
The student identifies opportunities related to digitalisation and the digital operating environment in service business. The student can participate in co-creation within a group. The student recognizes digital methods and tools for service development and understands the basics of leveraging user experiences in digital development.

3 Good
The student understands the opportunities of digitalisation and the digital operating environment in service business. The student is proficient in co-creation within a group. The student is familiar with digital methods and tools for service development and can select appropriate ones as needed. The student masters the basics of leveraging user experiences in digital development.

4 Very Good
The student can apply the opportunities of digitalisation and digital operating environments in service business. The student demonstrates responsible and effective co-creation in a group. The student uses digital methods and tools for service development and can select them according to the needs of the task. The student masters the fundamentals of utilising user experiences in digital development.

5 Excellent
The student can apply the opportunities of digitalisation and digital operating environments in service business. The student demonstrates responsible and proficient co-creation in a group. The student can analyse digital methods and various tools for service development and select appropriate ones as needed. The student can explain the importance of leveraging user experiences in digital development.

- basics of artificial intelligence
- leadership in a digital operating environment

Objective

The purpose of this course is to help you understand how digitalisation affects the operations of service industries and what factors constitute digitalisation. You will gain an understanding of the themes of sustainability and responsibility in digitalisation, identify different digital solutions used in service sectors, and recognise the related risks and opportunities for applying them in your own work.
