Objective
The students can recognise the main real-time applications (IP talk / VoIP, streaming, Precence, IM, Push-to-talk). They know the central signalling protocols of real-time applications (H.323, SIP,MGCP, SCCP), transfer protocols (RTP, RTPC, IP multicast), network elements (e.g. gatekeeper, gateway, MCU, Proxy server, redirect server), coding methods (G.711, G729), voice quality measurements (MOS, PSQM, PESQ, E-model), the special requirements of speech transfer. The participants are able to configure software and devices for telephone and communication systems. They are familiar with address resolutions (ENUM), the characteristics of wireless connecting (VoWLAN), special network technology solutions (NAT and firewall bypass), and alternative data security measures.
