Evaluation methods and criteria
The course is evaluated as Passed / Failed. When the aspects listed below are implemented, the entire course is completed with a numerical grade of at least T3 and considered passed: - The assignments have been submitted/completed within the timeframe defined for the course. - The Health Promotion Moodle assignments have been completed at least to the level of H3 (more detailed H3 criteria are listed below). The evaluation is based on the following criteria (Good 3): - uses the knowledge base of the professional field consistently - seeks information and justifies actions using evidence-based knowledge - applies professional competence in various situations - is able to act in a client-oriented manner - solves professional tasks and problems based on theoretical knowledge acquired during the course - acts in accordance with the profession’s ethical principles Copying exercises, theses, and other completed assignments or materials and presenting them as one’s own coursework is prohibited. A course performance will be failed if the student is deemed to have committed fraud. The detailed procedure for handling suspected cases of fraud is described in the Metropolia Degree Board’s instructions for disciplinary proceedings. In addition, Metropolia applies the guidelines of the Finnish National Board on Research Integrity (TENK) on good scientific practice and the handling of violations thereof, as established by the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Objective
The student - understands the theoretical levels, foundations and principles of health promotion - can identify factors linked to public health and perceive changes in the health of the population - can identify factors affecting the health of a community and apply this knowledge in their own work - can apply a health promotion approach in their work: bringing up health habits and supporting health changes - can apply ethical principles in health promotion - is able to consider sustainable development in health promotion.

Location and time
A voluntary orientation for the course will be held on 19 January 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 on Zoom (the orientation will be recorded and the recording will be made available in the Moodle workspace). All course implementation instructions can be found in Moodle. The name and enrolment key for the course’s Moodle workspace, as well as the Zoom link for the orientation, will be sent to students via Oma before the orientation on 19 January 2026. If you are unable to attend the live orientation, please watch the recording available in Moodle carefully.
