Anatomian luennot: 12.1.-15.5. 13 x 2 t
Taitojen harjoittelua pienryhmissä kampuksella joka toinen viikko
Hieronnan harjoittelu kampuksella huhti-toukokuussa.
Objective
Aim of the course
The aim of the course is familiarising yourself with the structure and functioning of the musculoskeletal system of a healthy human body and the basics of manual handling.
Course competences:
Professional and interprofessional practice
Physiotherapy interventions
Physiotherapy assessment
Intended learning outcome of the course:
You are able to describe the structure and functioning of the musculoskeletal system using key anatomical terminology. You recognise the main structures of the central and peripheral nervous systems and are able to describe their tasks. You understand the functioning of the neuromuscular system and know how to describe it.
You know the basic massage techniques and can use them for soft tissue manual therapy.
You can name and identify by palpating the key anatomical structures of the human body.
Content
The main content of the course comprises the anatomy of the musculoskeletal system, including anatomical terminology as well as the structures and functioning of bones, muscles and joints. Another set of key content comprises the structure of the central and peripheral nervous systems, muscle activation and contraction mechanisms, neuromuscular junction, peripheral innervation of muscles, types of muscular contraction, and the basics of muscle mechanics and force generation. The third set comprises palpation of key musculoskeletal structures and basic massage techniques.
Location and time
Opintojakso toteutuu koko syksyn ajan ja kampuksilla tapahtuvaa lähiopetusta on viikottain. Opintojakson tarkempi aikataulu löytyy Moodlesta.

Teaching methods
Lisäksi opintojaksolla on itsenäisesti suoritettavia kirjallisia tehtäviä Moodlessa, palpaatio-osuuteen liittyen.
Exam schedules
Toiminnallisen anatomian tentit: Tentti, osa 1 VKO 8, Tentti, osa 2 VKO 19
Palpaationäyttö: Osa 1 VKO 10 ja osa 2 VKO 20
Hierontanäyttö: Toukokuussa 2025.
International connections
Osa opintojakson oppimateriaalista on englanninkielistä.
