Tavoitteet

At the end of this course, it is expected that students will:
1. become familiar with several economic/business concepts, their reasoning, applications, and limitations,
2. start understanding the factors that affect economic/business activities at the micro and macro level,
3. understand monetary and fiscal policy dynamics and their implications,
4. be able to identify key patterns and trends in business activity,
5. understand multiple aspects pertaining to public finance, global business, economic crisis, foreign trade, and financial economics,
6. be able to participate in discussion pertaining to the aforesaid aspects.

Sisältö

Fundamental economic concepts (Consumption, production, exchange, and distribution); Micro and Macro Economics dynamics; Monetary and Fiscal policies;
Theory of the firm, Board of directors and related aspects including agency, and resource-dependence theory;
Exchange rate determination; Business and Economic data and information analysis; national income; interest and asset pricing; fundamentals of finance and investment;
Economic problems such as inflation, unemployment;
Globalization; International trade theory, Foreign direct investment, Regional integration and trade blocks; International monetary system.

concepts and principles in details and is able to draw conclusions in proper
the manner and is able to make educated projections (KU1, KU2, IS2).

Good (3-4)- The student understands the core micro and macro-economic concepts
and principles and is able to draw proper conclusions (KU1, KU2).

Satisfactory (1-2)- The student is aware of micro and macroeconomics concepts
and is able to draw conclusions at the basic level (KU1).
