Objective
The object of the course
This course serves as an introduction to the world of business intelligence management in sport business industry. It introduces different concepts of business intelligence management in the context of sport business. This course is a part of the Applied Business Knowledge in Sport module. 
After completing this course, you will understand the different methods, key concepts and driving factors of the business intelligence management in sport. You are familiar with business intelligence management methods in creating successful business in sport industry. You understand the importance of knowledge and data in relation to building successful business opportunities in the field of sport. 
Course competences
Business competence: The student is able to utilise knowledge-driven leadership to support decision making. 
Operating in workplace competence: The student utilises the opportunities offered by technology and digitalisation in their work. 
Proactive development competences: The student is able to apply existing knowledge in the field in development and utilises research and development methods.  
Ethics: The student understands the principles of responsible conduct of research and adheres to them.
The learning objectives of the course 
After completion of the course, you show some ability to analyze and evaluate both academic and business information relevant to sport business. You utilize the opportunities offered by technology and digitalization to support decision making. You are able to solve problems and provide knowledge-driven and improved customer-oriented solutions for different areas of sport businesses. You also understand ethical issues and their impact to collecting, analyzing and processing data and information as a part of sport business management.
                    
Execution methods
Classroom teaching - lectures, workshops and case work. 
The primary mode of delivery is in-class activities on campus including both lectures and workshops. The in-class activities deepen the learning in the forms of tutorials, individual and group works, reflection and guidance. There will be also some co-operation with sport businesses to support learning and provide real-life approaches to business opportunities in the field of sport.
                    
Content
This course is an introduction to business logic of sports, utilizing digitalization and technology for sport business, knowledge and data management, applied research of sports, customer relationship management, innovations and improving performance in the field of sport business.

Teaching methods
Course is an on-campus implementation supplemented with some virtual parts.
Some of the assignments are made as a co-operation with sports organizations.

You are able to utilize to a limited extent opportunities offered by technology and digitalization in sport business. You show some but narrow skills in utilizing existing knowledge in the field in development and in utilizing research and development methods. You are able to name some very basic ethical considerations and principles of responsible conduct of research. 
Satisfactory 2
You have some ability in order to analyze and evaluate academic and business information relevant to sport business. You are able to utilize data and knowledge-driven leadership to support decision-making as well as current trends in technology and digitalization in sport business, but the approach is not supported with argumentation. You show some skill in utilizing existing knowledge in the field in development and in utilizing research and development methods.
