Objective

You will diversify your own knowledge of music by participating in various music events, such as concerts or other live music events, guest lectures, doctoral dissertations, master classes, seminars or training days as part of the audience attending the event.

You understand the music events in Central Finland and learn to utilize the diverse concert and event offerings in the region, including the opportunities offered by the Finnish Music Campus. You recognize and are able to choose events that diversify and enrich your own knowledge.

You are able to evaluate your experiences of music events and the concert and event scene in the region in relation to your own musical background.

Content

You attend concerts or other music-related events of different genres or actors that will enhance your knowledge. At the same time, you get to know the range of music events in the Central Finland region.

You will also develop your reflective skills as a music pedagogue or music enthusiast, taking into account the impact of your musical background on your experience of events in the sector and your understanding of what the region has to offer.

Reporting instructions for the course can be found in the course's own Moodle workspace. The instructions are in Finnish but the written assignment of the course can also be completed in English.

Location and time

The Central Finland Higher Education Week takes place from 13 to 17 of April. You choose three concerts of your interest from the Finnish Music Campus concert programme during the week. During and after the week, you will write a learning diary independently.

The concert options are as follows:
-The Finnish Music Campus Spring 2026 Loisto Concert Series will take place during the week. You can choose to follow the Loisto pop/jazz or classical music concerts of your choice. You can watch Loisto concerts stream online or on-site.
-Klassista sun päivääsi! is an annual classical music concert series at the Finnish Music Campus. The KSP! concert will take place on Monday 13 April in the Campus' Hannikaissali. The concert can be attended on site at the Finnish Music Campus.
-During the week, additional concerts will also be held, which you are welcome to attend if you wish.
-Please note that many of the concerts take place in the evening.

Free admission to all concerts during the week. For detailed concert information and possible streaming links, please visit:
