Objective
The aim of the course is advancing the theoretical knowledge studied in the module by participating in work in the field of rehabilitation. On this course students familiarise themselves with documentation, assessing challenges that limit ability to work and functional capacity, and the principles of planning rehabilitation.

Intended learning outcome:
Operating in a workplace: You are able to act constructively and professionally in different communication and interaction situations of working life. You understand the complexity of working life.
Assessment of needs and possibilities for rehabilitation: You recognise an individual's needs and resources for rehabilitation. You are familiar with indicators used to assess work ability and functional capacity and the principles related to their use. You understand the importance of comprehensive assessment.
Rehabilitation planning: Together with the client and the team, you are able to draw up rehabilitation plans that meet the client’s needs and take correct timing into account. You know how to document the rehabilitation process.
Rehabilitation service system competence: You know how to draw on up-to-date information on the service system and legislation when planning rehabilitation.
Content
The key content of the course comprises assessing rehabilitation needs, the basics of planning rehabilitation, and documentation of the rehabilitation process. You participate in assessing the client's overall situation and are involved in preparing the rehabilitation plan. You examine the theory on guidance methods you have learned in practical counselling situations and reflect on your actions in the role of an instructor.
Location and time
The internship takes place in a place chosen by the student that supports their career plan and professional development during the spring semester
Teaching methods
The course is implemented in a real working life community as practical training. In addition, the internship includes independent work in an online learning environment and participation in reflective small group activities.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed
You know how to act constructively and professionally in communication and interaction situations of working life and are able to give examples of impacts of changes in working life.
You are able to describe the rehabilitation needs and possibilities of clients of your workplace. You are able to describe the indicators used to assess work ability and functional capacity and the principles of their use. You recognise methods for assessing a client's situation comprehensively, such as methods based on the ICF classification.
You have been involved in preparing rehabilitation plans for clients based on their individual needs. You are able to describe what timeliness means in rehabilitation. You have documented a rehabilitation process in accordance with the principles of the workplace.
You know how to describe services that are possible for the target group of your workplace and the underlying legislation.
Qualifications
You are familiar with assessing needs and possibilities for rehabilitation and understand factors that result in rehabilitation needs. You are familiar with the different phases of the rehabilitation process and master the service system at a basic level. You know the significance and principles of dialogical interaction in case management.
