Objective

Purpose of the course:
In the course, you will learn evidence-based and clinical pediatric and adolescent nursing. After attending the course, you will have the skills to meet different children, adolescents and families and to promote their well-being and health.

After attending the course, you will know the developmental stages and individual needs of children and adolescents, and you will know how to promote the well-being of families.

You will identify the most important childhood diseases and the mental health challenges of adolescents.
You understand the importance of interaction and growth environments in the planning, implementation and evaluation of pediatric, adolescent and family nursing .
You can apply the main treatment methods of pediatric and adolescent nursing in a simulation situation, taking patient safety into account.
You understand the importance of vaccination from the perspective of the individual, the community and society, and you know how to apply the national vaccination program in a customer-oriented manner.

Qualifications

You master the methods of health promotion, internal medicine nursing and mental health nursing.
You master the areas of anatomy and physiology, drug therapy, pharmacology and medicine which are related to the mentioned nursing studies.
You know the basics of evidence-based decision-making.

Further information

During the course, assessment is carried out on the principle of continuous feedback. Self-assessment and peer review also play a key role. Assessment is based on the objectives and assessment criteria of the course.

The grade for the course comes from the exam result and seminar work and presentation that brings together the themes of the course.
