Passed
The student is able to utilize theoretical and research-based perspectives that promote well-being in nature in summer school discussions, group work and reflections of own competence. The student is familiar with nature-based practical activities that promote well-being and is able to examine their impact on their own well-being.

The students
• know the physiological and psychological impacts of nature
• know the theoretical backgrounds of nature impacts and benefits for health and wellbeing
• able to use and apply meaningful and goal-oriented practical tools in different natural environments to support physical and mental health in rehabilitation, social work, and health care sectors.
Content
• Theories linking nature, health and well-being
• Evidence-based research results between nature and wellbeing benefits
• Practical tools for preventive and treatment-based rehabilitation, health care, and social work – indoors, in green spaces, and woodlands.

Materials
As a preliminary assignment, participants are asked to consider their own relationship with nature and reflect on it in the written material provided. The material and questions will be sent to participants two weeks before the summer school. Other relevant learning material will be provided during the summer school week and used throughout the week. At the end of the week, participants will reflect on what they have learned and consider how it can be applied in their future work.
Teaching methods
During the Summer School week, there will be lectures, group work, visits, and practical activities in a natural environment.
Employer connections
Activities that support learning are carried out in a natural environment. During the week, we aim to arrange a visit to a social and health care organization that uses nature to promote well-being.

International connections
Summer School is also open to students from foreign universities. Some of the teaching is carried out by experts from foreign universities.

Participation to the Summer School one week program. Studying the preliminary material and reflecting own competences.

Pass (S) The students
- are able to describe the main impacts of nature for human physiology and mental wellbeing
- are able to describe the main theories of physiological and mental impacts of nature
- are able to use and apply at least two practical methods in two different nature environments to support client´s physical and mental health.
