Objective

The utilization of automation plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of intra logistics. The automation market is expected to triple in the logistics sector between 2020 and 2027. After completing this course, you will understand the application areas of technologies used in automated intra logistics and be able to choose the most suitable technologies for a given purpose. You will be able to compare solution models using simulation and understand the processes to which automation is applicable. Additionally, you will be capable of working as a team member, participating in learning tasks and reporting, and independently seeking relevant materials.

Knowledge and understanding:
You can independently search for reliable materials for a given task. You are familiar with the most common technologies used in internal logistics automation and their applications.

Engineering practice:
You can design an automation system for the needs of internal logistics and use simulation programs to assist in system design and efficiency analysis.

Communication and team-working:
You can create a concise presentation of your design work and collaborate effectively as a team member.

Exam schedules

Assessment is based on project work and learning assignments. There is no exam in this course.

The student can make simple simulations of automation systems and is able to compare technologies through simulation and calculus. The student can design an automation system on a general level based on given starting values. The student is involved in the group's daily activities and is capable of independent information retrieval.

The student can make reliable simulations of automation systems and comparisons between technologies. Based on given starting values the student can create solutions and compare them. The student can design an automation system. The student is actively involved in the activities of the group and can conduct versatile information searches.

The student can make versatile simulations of automation systems and comparisons between technologies. The student can analyze given starting values and alternative solution models and is able to make a versatile design of the automation system. The student actively participates in group activities and can carry out versatile information searches.
