Tavoitteet
The short term programme is based in Hong Kong and at the heart of the booming Asia-Pacific  region. Our partner The School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) at The 
 Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is uniquely positioned to not  only to ride the Asian wave, but also to lead the world in educational 
 excellence. 
 
 The students will learn from experienced academics, professionals and international industry practitioners, and they will be immersed 
 in global culture and business practice. The students will develop and hone their hospitality philosophy and construct their management toolbox while enjoying 
 exceptional proximity to buoyant markets. They will familiarize themselves with the most current trends and issues that impact the hospitality, hotel and tourism industry. By 
 researching a diversity of issues and sharing the findings all students will gain an in-depth insight into the ‘state of play’ of 21st century 
 tourism.
 
 The students will be able to identify and analyze contemporary tourism and hospitality issues in order to understand how they affect the delivery of tourism and hospitality products and services. Critically assess the relationship between the hospitality and tourism industry and the environments in which the industry takes place. Evaluate the contributions and impacts of hospitality and tourism within the social, economic, political, cultural, and other areas. To help students analyze the essence of a luxury brand, luxury brand consumption and luxury experience. The students get knowledge on how to analyze the power of a luxury brand and evaluate a luxury experience through its value, its social, contractual and semiotic dimensions. Identify luxury brand and experience problems within the hospitality, hotel and tourism context.
 
 The topic  Quality Service Management in Asia  emphasizes analytical, and problem solving skills which integrate service management models, service marketing, service quality, customer satisfaction, and  customer loyalty.  The students are able to understand the importance and current issues of service quality in rapid changing hospitality and tourism industry. 
 
 Services Marketing in Asian Context- course helps the students to  develop abilities to think critically in analyzing service problems and to apply services marketing concepts and theories to address these problems and develop sources of competitive advantage.
 
 In the subject of Consumer Behaviour in Asian Hospitality and Tourism the students are provided a framework for an understanding of consumer behaviour in the travel and tourism industry. It focuses on providing students with the knowledge in managing various aspects of tourist behavior in Asian markets.
 
 The Global Leadership subject contributes primarily to the achievement of leadership and creativity in Asia, managing interdependence in Asia and globally, while also enabling students to identify ethical issues, contributing to their critical and creative thinking and their global outlook. 
 
 Finally the students  are able to evaluate, appraise, and analyze human resources functions and employee motivation in the context of the hotel and tourism environment in Asia. The students can evaluate the prevailing environments that affect SMEs in Hong Kong and in China. To identify the personal competency required to start up SMEs and to run the SMEs effectively. Examine and practice the critical tools, functions, concepts and skills that are required for owner/managers of SMEs in  Asia

 5 (Excellent): The student shows exceptional knowledge of subject material. The student demonstrates the ability to apply the material to real-life situations and challenges with superior communications skills.
