Purpose
In this course you will be able to independently work as a midwife during childbirth

Outcomes
After completing the course, you will be able to carry out midwifery work for women and families during childbirth in accordance with the principles of professional activity in a multidisciplinary sexual and reproductive health service system.

You will be able to establish a secure and confidential working relationship with delivering women and their families, taking into account their cultural background. You recognize difficult and sensitive things and know how to talk to them with families.

You can apply the principles of empowerment-based sexual and reproductive health promotion, you can prevent and address the risk factors of labor, anticipate and identify high-risk births and participate in treatment in a multi-professional manner.

You can apply process thinking and you can make evidence-based decisions in the planning, implementation and evaluation of guidance and care for a p woman and family during childbirth, even in unpredictable situations.

You know the key research and assistance methods for women in labor, the fetus and the family, as well as the related digitalisation and care technology, and you can apply and evaluate them in the work of midwives for women and families during childbirth.

You know the different partners in the field of midwifery for women and families in labor and know how to work as a midwifery expert in a multi-professional team in the sexual and reproductive health service system.

You know how to lead your own activities and recognize the importance of the team in managing midwifery. You will be able to critically review your own skills and develop yourself professionally.

You can evaluate and apply the principles of sustainable develpment in midwifery.

Professional practise in midwifery for low- and high-risk births in accordance with the above objectives.

Theoretical knowledge of midwifery in women and families during childbirth.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Professional practise is assessed as approved/failed according to separate assessment criteria. The assessment criteria are visible in the electronic training guidance environment.

Content scheduling

Professional practice after theory.

The training is done in 2 parts:
- low risk births 13op, at the 2nd semester in midwifery deepening studies
- high risk births 13op, at the 3rd semester in midwifery deepening studies

The evaluation of the course is based on the evaluation criteria of training in midwifery studies.

- self-assessment
- qualitative assessment by the instructor
- qualitative assessment by the teacher
