Objective
The purpose of the course is to become familiar with the requirements of first-line management and teamwork in social and early childhood education services.

Learning outcomes:
You are able to act in accordance with human and fundamental rights, social sector values and professional ethics. You are able to promote equality, equality and diversity, and to act in ethically justifiable and socially sustainable situations involving conflicts of value.
You know social and early childhood education services related to well-being and sustainable development. You are familiar with the legal basis of the field and consider the key legislation in social and educational management. You are able to act as an expert in the field of social and educational services in the interest of the client in management and multidisciplinary work.
You know the importance of managing the work community and teamwork as part of client work implementation, work management and organisation. You are familiar with key legislation and know how to promote your own and your work community's well-being. You know different ways of assessing and developing the quality of work and results and understand the importance of human resource management in the work of the unit and the organisation.
Content
Practical training about team leadership in a social work or early childhood education setting.
The main content of the course is first-line management and its various areas, the management of customer work guidance and customer processes, and familiarity with teamwork and its management.
Qualifications
You are familiar with the different aspects of first-line management and their importance in the implementation of the basic task and in the management of the client process. You understand the principles of teamwork and the key tasks of a team leader.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
You can describe the key areas and tasks of first-line management in a social and/or early childhood education setting. You know the principles of client guidance, client processes and teamwork management and you are aware to take these in your activities. You are familiar with key legislation in management work in the social and educational sector and are able to promote your own and work community`s well-being at work. You recognise how to promote equality in management work and in your own work and how to act in an ethical and socially sustainable way. You are able to evaluate the implementations of the above-mentioned themes in first-line management.
