Objective

The Chip Removal Manufacturing Technology course teaches you how to know the factors that a product designer should take into account when designing products and parts of them. In the course, the student learns to look at things specifically from the point of view of machined manufacturing methods. In the course, the student gets an idea of taking machining into account from two different perspectives: from the point of view of the process and manufacturing method.

Engineering practice:
- Understanding of suitable tools and development ideas.
- Practical skills to solve complex problems and implement technical design based on studies and studies in one's own field.
- The ability to choose the appropriate construction equipment, tools, methods, technologies and processes, understanding their limitations.

Investigation and information retrieval:
- The ability to carry out literature studies and to make critical use of databases and other sources of information; the ability to design and carry out the necessary simulations/experiments, to interpret the information obtained from them and to be able to draw conclusions.

Communication and team-working:
- The ability to communicate effectively about information, ideas, problems and solutions to the technology community and society as a whole.

Content

Factors affecting the productivity of the products to be machined and their parts.

Qualifications

Manage a product design job. Mastering material removing manufacturing technology. Management the basics of the production engineering.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Successful learning tasks.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The overall assessment consists entirely of the exercises.

Accepted: You have at least satisfactory control over the following key issues
- you are able to design the machined part so that the issues of cutting machining technology have been taken into account from the point of view of both process and manufacturing methods.
- you are able to make design solutions from the point of view of the cost-effectiveness of manufacturing.
