In this course, you will strengthen your core professional skills in your chosen field and expand your understanding of practical tasks. You will develop general workplace skills and learn to assess your professional capabilities and competencies. The course equips you with the ability to understand health, safety, and legal issues in the application of technology, as well as the social and environmental impacts of technical solutions. You will also learn to select and use appropriate equipment, tools, and methods, and to combine theory and practice to solve technical problems.
The precise content of the practical training depends on the work placement. In addition to professional learning, the student gains general working life skills as well as organizational skills and skills needed for functioning in the society.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The student has completed the practical training in full length and has demonstrated that they understand the essential work tasks of the field and master working life skills. The assessment is based on the practical training tutor's contact visit at work placement, discussions with the student, practical training tutor and employer. The student identifies and is able to assess their own professional strengths and development areas. These have been presented in the practical training documentation: practical training plan, documentation of practical training, feedback form, testimonial of employment and student's records of working hours.
